A leading process manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to oversee and enhance all quality assurance and quality control operations within a multi-shift manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for managing quality management systems, ensuring regulatory and customer compliance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Quality Assurance Manager will play a critical role in maintaining product consistency, improving operational performance, and developing a strong culture of quality and safety throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead all quality assurance and quality control activities across manufacturing operations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems, policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications, regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company quality objectives.
- Manage laboratory operations, product testing protocols, inspections, and quality documentation processes.
- Oversee quality assurance sample programs, including collection, tracking, retention, testing, and documentation requirements.
- Analyze quality metrics, production data, and customer feedback to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Partner with production, engineering, and operations teams to improve product consistency, process capability, and manufacturing performance.
- Manage internal audits and support customer, regulatory, and certification audits.
- Monitor supplier quality performance and assist with supplier improvement initiatives when needed.
- Develop and maintain quality reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Investigate customer complaints, quality concerns, and non-conformances while ensuring timely resolution.
- Support new product introductions, process improvement projects, and quality-related initiatives.
- Train, coach, and develop quality team members while promoting accountability and continuous improvement.
- Support workplace safety initiatives, including audits, hazard assessments, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental health and safety (EHS), and company safety policies.
- Participate as a key member of safety committees and operational improvement teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, Chemistry, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing, or a related technical field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of quality assurance experience within a manufacturing environment.
- At least 2 years of experience leading or managing quality personnel or quality functions.
- Experience developing and maintaining Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- Experience with audits, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), process improvement, and quality documentation.
- Manufacturing experience within process manufacturing, industrial products, minerals, chemicals, or related industries preferred.
- Quality certifications such as ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CMQ/OE), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or equivalent preferred.
- Experience with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, GMP, HACCP, SQF, or other industry-specific quality standards preferred.
- Knowledge of OSHA and workplace safety compliance requirements.
- Ability to work onsite within a multi-shift manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems, quality control processes, and manufacturing quality standards.
- Experience managing audits, inspections, testing programs, and compliance initiatives.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement effective corrective actions.
- Strong understanding of root cause analysis methodologies and continuous improvement practices.
- Knowledge of laboratory testing procedures and sample management processes.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop quality team members.
