Quality Assurance Lead

We are seeking a hands-on Quality Assurance Lead to guide inspection activities in a high-precision manufacturing environment. This role combines advanced dimensional inspection expertise, CMM programming, and day-to-day technical leadership, with a strong focus on maintaining quality requirements while supporting efficient production.

  • Lead daily inspection activities and provide technical direction to inspection personnel.
  • Develop, modify, and support CMM programs using PC-DMIS for new and existing components.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and apply advanced GD&T principles throughout the inspection process.
  • Plan inspection methods for new parts, including CMM strategy, measurement approach, and required inspection resources.
  • Coordinate first-piece, in-process, and other required inspections to support production schedules.
  • Oversee the identification, documentation, and disposition of nonconforming material.
  • Work closely with production and engineering to resolve dimensional, inspection, and manufacturing-quality issues.
  • Support inspector development, process improvement efforts, and overall inspection-department performance.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of hands-on quality or inspection experience in a precision manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of GD&T and demonstrated ability to apply it to dimensional inspection.
  • Hands-on PC-DMIS programming experience; CMM operating experience alone is not sufficient.
  • Strong CMM inspection-planning and dimensional-measurement experience.
  • Experience inspecting machined components and supporting electromechanical assemblies.
  • Previous responsibility for leading inspectors or directing inspection activities; formal people management is not required.
  • Experience managing nonconforming material and supporting disposition decisions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
