Position Summary The Quality Assurance Technician (QA Tech) plays a critical role in ensuring our products meet established quality standards and food safety requirements throughout the manufacturing process. This role performs hands‑on inspections, testing, documentation, and cross‑departmental communication to support safe, consistent, and high‑quality production.

Quality & Food Safety Responsibilities
  • Inspect and test raw materials, in‑process products, and finished goods using approved protocols.
  • Sample and verify incoming products.
  • Identify defects, deviations, or non‑conformance issues and document findings clearly.
  • Place materials or finished goods on HOLD when necessary.
  • Conduct sanitation, hygiene, GMP, swabbing, and pre‑operational inspections.
  • Perform organoleptic (sensory) testing and prepare/send samples to 3rd‑party labs.
  • Approve raw materials, work‑in‑process, or finished batches when applicable.
  • Support continuous improvement and corrective/preventive action initiatives.
  • Assist in investigations of customer complaints or product issues.
  • Maintain accurate inspection and testing records.
  • Promote a culture of food safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with Quality, Production, and leadership teams to resolve issues and maintain consistent standards.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally regarding quality concerns or process changes.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in quality assurance within food manufacturing (required).
  • Working knowledge of HACCP, BRC, food safety regulations, and cGMPs.
  • Ability to perform lab testing and effectively use lab equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and communicate quality issues.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ERP or QMS experience preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, time‑sensitive environment.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Food safety certifications (PCQI, HACCP, Food Defense) preferred.
