Our Quality team works directly with Manufacturing, Engineering, Program Management, customers, and suppliers to solve problems, improve processes, and ensure we deliver precision products that meet demanding customer and regulatory requirements. As an Associate Quality Engineer, you will build on your hands‑on quality experience while developing your skills in quality engineering, statistical analysis, process improvement, root cause analysis, FMEA, First Article Inspection, PPAP, process validation, and Quality Management Systems.

We are looking for someone with a solid foundation in manufacturing quality who is ready to take on more responsibility and develop their engineering skill set.
Your experience inspecting parts, working with measurement equipment, reading drawings, identifying nonconformances, and understanding manufacturing processes can provide the foundation for success in this role.
At Oberg, you'll have the opportunity to develop deeper expertise in:
Quality Engineering → Statistical Analysis → Problem Solving → Process Improvement → Customer Quality → Quality Systems.
- Assist with developing inspection criteria, inspection methods, and quality reports based on customer and product requirements.
- Assist with First Article Inspection (FAI) reports and customer submissions.
- Support FMEA, PPAP, Gage R&R, SPC, and statistical analysis activities.
- Work with Quality Engineering, Manufacturing, Engineering, Program Management, customers, and suppliers to resolve quality issues.
- Assist with customer and supplier interactions, both remotely and in person.
- Assist with root cause analysis of customer concerns, nonconforming product, and process issues.
- Support the development and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Analyze quality data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Utilize Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including NCMR, scrap, rework, and customer escapes, to identify and support continuous improvement projects.
- Assist with determining appropriate inspection frequencies based on statistical and process data.
- Support the development and maintenance of Quality Management System procedures and documentation.
- Maintain product and process records in accordance with internal, customer, and regulatory requirements.
- Support compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485, and 21 CFR Part 820 requirements.
- Assist with process validations, including IQ, OQ, and PQ.
- Utilize precision measurement equipment and quality data to support product and process decisions.
- Follow work instructions, drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
We are especially interested in candidates who have a hands‑on Quality background and want to grow into Quality Engineering.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Quality/Manufacturing environment operating under an ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485, or similar Quality Management System and/or a two-year associate degree.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.
- Experience with First Articles, FMEA and /or PPAP’s is preferred.
- Experience with precision measurement equipment, such as drop gauges or surface analyzers, CMM’s, OGP’s is preferred.
- Working knowledge of statistical analysis and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
