Research Assistant
We are seeking a Research Assistant to support upcoming experiments under the PRISM NSF grant, which investigates monsoon resilience of microbial functioning in arid lands. The role involves assisting with the setup and maintenance of large‑scale mesocosm experiments, routine monitoring, and collection of environmental and microbial measurements. The candidate will receive hands‑on training in selected data analysis approaches related to the project, work closely with the postdoc lead, and be an integral part of the experimental team in the Couradeau lab at Penn State.
Responsibilities- Support experimental design and execution of large‑scale mesocosm experiments.
- Maintain and calibrate experimental equipment.
- Monitor environmental conditions and collect microbial samples on a regular basis.
- Record and organize data for subsequent analysis.
- Participate in data analysis training and apply analytical methods to project data.
- Collaborate with postdoctoral researchers and other team members to achieve project goals.
- Successful completion of required background checks in accordance with university policies.
