Job Title

Part-time Lab Assistant

Job Description

The part-time lab assistant will complete the remaining experiments associated with an ongoing research project in the lab and assist with preparation of the resulting manuscript for publication.

The position requires prior direct involvement in the design, execution, troubleshooting, and interpretation of this specific project, as well as familiarity with the project's experimental materials, protocols, datasets, and current manuscript status. Because the remaining work builds directly on experiments already performed, the individual must be able to complete the project efficiently, maintain continuity in experimental design and data interpretation, and ensure the rigor and consistency needed for timely publication.

In addition, the part-time lab assistant will help new graduate students in key experimental approaches, laboratory procedures, data analysis workflows, and project-specific methods related to this work. This help will support continuity in the lab, help new students become productive more quickly, and ensure that essential technical knowledge and project-specific expertise are transferred before the individual's departure.

Employment Requirements

Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies.
