Education:
Minimum required:
B.Sc. in Biochemistry or Biological Sciences with a minimum of 6 years of hands-on laboratory experience. Preferred: M.Sc./Ph.D. in related fields with at least 4 years of hands-on laboratory experience.
Proficiency in cell and molecular biology techniques, including tissue culture, microscopy, cloning, Taqman assays, RT-PCR, CRISPR-Cas9, and siRNA. Proficiency in designing and optimizing cell-based assays to assess small molecules efficacy, potency, and toxicity. Experience in protein biochemistry, assay development (HTRF, ELISA, or other plate-based biochemical assays); familiarity with Octet or Biacore systems is a plus. Skills in nucleic acid analysis and design software Experience with PCR primer design and sequence analysis is desirable.
Prior exposure to virology experience is a desirable asset. Experience in a Biosafety Level II (BSL-II) laboratory environment. Strong writing and presentation skills. Strong analytical skills, detail-oriented, and excellent at record-keeping and laboratory notebook maintenance. Critical thinking skills, including the ability to evaluate results and troubleshoot issues effectively.
Competency in data analysis tools, particularly Excel and Prism; experience with Geneious Prime or similar software is advantageous.

1 year assignment with possibility of extension. 100% onsite lab based role.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will utilize their expertise in cell and molecular biology to characterize new antiviral drug targets. Candidates should demonstrate flexibility in daily routines, a strong drive for scientific exploration, and a willingness to learn. Key scientific techniques in this role will include, but are not limited to; mammalian cell culture, microscopy, high-content imaging, cell-based assays, nucleic acid/protein extraction, and RT-PCR;
protein biochemistry may be included. Experience with Virology, Western Blot, and ELISA preferred but not required.
