Postdoctoral Researcher - College of Engineering
The Marcolongo Lab at Villanova University is looking for post-doctoral students who can contribute to our NIH-supported project examining biomimetic proteoglycans to molecularly engineer connective tissues, including cartilage and disc. We are looking for a creative innovator who can work with us on new molecular/biomaterial chemistries to optimize connective tissue repair and regeneration. Our lab is focused on early and minimally invasive strategies to mitigate or reverse disease progression in connective tissues, where often few clinically relevant treatment options exist.
Villanova is a Catholic university sponsored by the Augustinian Order. The University is an equal opportunity employer and seeks candidates who understand, respect and can contribute to the University's mission and values.
The successful candidate will work with Dr. Michele Marcolongo on new molecular/biomaterial chemistries to optimize connective tissue repair and regeneration. The position starts as early as Summer 2023.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, or similar field required. Expertise in polymers from a chemical and characterization perspective is encouraged.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of biomaterial/tissue interactions, gene expression, preferred.
