Scientist Assistant

Position: Scientist - I (Assistant)
Location: West Point

Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Scientist - I (Assistant) for an Onsite position with a Major Pharmaceutical Company located in West Point, PA. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

This role involves supporting downstream processing of vaccine intermediates within a laboratory setting. The ideal candidate will prepare solutions, perform lab-scale experiments, and maintain accurate records according to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).

Responsibilities:

• Set up process equipment for lab-scale experiments
• Prepare laboratory reagents, solutions and culture media
• Perform lab-scale downstream processing of vaccine process intermediates
• Perform process monitoring assays
• Analyze, collate, track, and report data back to client staff members
• Maintain records and test results following good laboratory practices (GLP)
• Work independently and efficiently
• Document work clearly and perform tests accurately
• Communicate effectively with client staff members

Requirements:

• B.S. in Bio/Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or related science
• 0-3 years of work experience
• At least six months of related laboratory experience, preferably performing biologics purification steps
• General laboratory skills, experience with pipettes
• Experience using formulas and linking spreadsheets in Excel
• Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
• Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
• Ability to work flexible hours

Desired skills:

• Operation of tangential flow filtration experience is preferred

Pay range: up to $32.14 per hour
