Research Technologist Position

The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a candidate for a Research Technologist in the laboratory of Prof. Song Tan in the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Express proteins and protein complexes in
  
  E. coli
• Purify proteins, protein complexes and protein/DNA complexes using low pressure and high performance chromatography
• Analyze proteins and protein/DNA complexes by electrophoresis, spectroscopy, immunoassays and enzyme activity assays
• Maintain written and electronic laboratory records
• Assist with ordering laboratory supplies
• Maintain laboratory equipment

This position requires a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience in biological science, chemistry or physics.

This is a term position funded for one year from date of hire with the possibility of refunding.

Salary & Benefits:

• The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $36,888.00 - $53,532.00.
