Senior Scientist in In Silico Discovery within Johnson & Johnson's Therapeutics Discovery, focused on developing and deploying structure-based, physics-driven computational workflows for early drug design.
Responsibilities:- build and optimize automated protocols for ligand/protein prep, docking, free energy calculations, and co-folding
- enhance workflow automation, expand scope, and integrate new tools
- collaborate with IT and platform teams to align with enterprise standards
- leverage AI to accelerate development
- PhD in computational science or chemistry
- expertise in structure-based drug discovery, programming (preferably Python), and automated workflow development
- familiarity with software engineering best practices
- experience with open-source libraries like RDKit, AI/ML platforms, agentic AI, and advanced methods such as free energy calculations and co-folding
- postdoctoral or industry experience in drug discovery advantageous
- Computational chemistry
- automation in early-stage biologics or small molecules
- emerging technologies
- cross-functional collaboration in global teams
primarily Belgium, with options in California or Pennsylvania; travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.
