Position Overview

Join our team for a rewarding career at the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB). The Fine Wine & Good Spirits (FWGS) Store in Jim Thorpe is looking for a Full-Time Sales Team Lead (Liquor Store Clerk
2). This role focuses on customer service in a high‑energy retail environment, leading a team of clerks across multiple stores in the district.

Description of Work

As a Sales Team Lead Itinerant, you will support store success through teamwork and leadership.

Responsibilities include:

  • Shift Leadership: Guide clerks during assigned shifts and maintain smooth store operations.
  • Customer Assistance: Provide top‑notch service, help shoppers locate products, and resolve product‑related concerns promptly.
  • Sales Operations: Process sales transactions, complete shift reports for accounting and inventory, and manage cash.
  • Store Upkeep: Stock shelves, unload shipments, build displays, and maintain an organized, clean environment while safely handling products and equipment.
  • Staff Training: Provide on‑the‑job training so clerks understand and follow store procedures and policies.
  • Legal Requirements: Follow all guidelines to ensure alcohol is sold only to customers who are legally permitted to buy it.
Work Schedule and Additional Information
  • Free, secure onsite parking.
  • Full‑time employment.
  • Work hours will vary, totaling 75 hours biweekly.
  • Itinerant position requiring travel as needed.
  • Telework: No telework option.
  • Salary: Starting salary for new Commonwealth employees is fixed at the minimum listed above and is not negotiable.
Required Experience, Training & Eligibility

Qualifications

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Liquor Store Clerk 1 or Intermittent Liquor Store Clerk (Commonwealth or equivalent Federal Government job titles),
    or
  • Six months of retail sales experience.

Other Requirements:

  • Must meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • Must pass a background investigation. A felony conviction within the last ten years is disqualifying; other criminal convictions are reviewed individually.
