Spring Grove, PA 17362 – $18.00-$20.00 / hour – full time

The Dairy / Frozen Manager manages the daily operations of their assigned department. The position is accountable for the profit and loss (P&L) for the department and must use leadership and merchandising skills to manage product levels and make sound business decisions. The Dairy/Frozen Manager ensures that all Kennie’s customers are provided with top quality products and the best customer service available.

• Achieve department sales and gross profit goals.
• Maintain and control supply and payroll expenses, inventory and waste.
• Follow correct accounting procedures: invoices, transfers, inventories, etc.
• Order sufficient quantities of product and correctly price them.
• Ensure quality and freshness of product with proper rotation and temperature maintenance.
• Direct stocking, display and rotation of Dairy / Frozen products, ensuring seasonal, sale and demand items are properly displayed with eye appeal to the customer.
• Collaborate with Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager on merchandising, planning and scheduling, sales trends, potential problems and improvements.
• Maintain a sanitary department on the sales floor, cases/coolers and back room area.
• Ensure employees follow company policies and procedures.
• Ensure proper and preventative maintenance of all company equipment in the department.
• Obey all safety standards.
• Cooperate with other departments for store‑wide sales promotions.
• Perform other appropriate duties as directed by the Assistant Store Manager or Store Manager.
• Directly supervise 5-10 employees in the Dairy and Frozen Departments.
• Carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, training, performance appraisal, rewarding, disciplining, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

• High School Diploma or GED and two (2) to four (4) years related experience and/or training.
• Language skills: read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively to customers and employees.
• Mathematical skills: calculate figures such as discounts, interest, and percentages.
• Reasoning ability: solve practical problems and deal with variety of variables; interpret written, oral, diagram or schedule instructions.
