Onvo is a network of travel plazas, restaurants, and hotels with locations throughout Pennsylvania and New York. We are looking for a Cashier to provide fast and friendly customer service while maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Job OverviewAs one of the frontline positions, this role is integral to the company’s success. The ideal fit is an energetic, outgoing, people-oriented and self‑motivated candidate with strong verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining high customer focus.
Responsibilities- Customer Service: Greets every customer promptly and courteously, provides a pleasant shopping experience, responds to inquiries timely, handles complaints per company policies, and recommends products based on knowledge.
- Cash Handling: Operates all point‑of‑sale equipment, processes customer sales accurately and efficiently, balances the till at the start and end of each shift, and keeps cash drawer levels compliant with policies.
- Stock Control: Receives and stocks merchandise following company policy, lifts up to 50 pounds with proper procedures, faces stock cleanly, applies FIFO for all products, removes/records damaged or out‑of‑date items, and follows portion control to minimize loss.
- Security & Loss Prevention: Uses prevention techniques to maintain full control of the store and its contents, secures premises after closing, and follows company policies to minimize theft.
- Cleanliness: Maintains high standards: sweeps and mops floors, cleans walls, counters, tables, service equipment, removes trash, cleans restrooms, and cleans the parking lot.
- Teamwork & Communication: Works effectively with team members, assists new associates, and reports internal issues to the GM promptly.
- Occupational Health & Safety: Performs all duties safely, complies with safety policies and procedures, uses proper handling equipment, and reports unsafe practices to management.
- Energetic, outgoing, people‑oriented, and self‑motivated.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining customer focus.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Proficiency in handling point‑of‑sale systems and cash management.
