Key Account Manager – Warehouse Distribution
Axalta is a global coatings company that provides innovative, colorful and sustainable solutions for automotive refinish, industrial, light and commercial vehicle markets across the globe. The Key Account Manager (KAM) role is responsible for connecting regional and/or national distributors with Axalta, building relationships, and driving revenue growth.
Work Location:
Fully remote with a requirement for local presence in the Pennsylvania surrounding area to enable onsite visits. Travel up to 50% of the time.
- Relationship Management – Build relationships with distributor leadership, develop a 3×3 relationship management plan with Axalta team, and secure long‑term connections.
- Strategic Growth Plan – Develop a business plan that enables the growth objectives of both the distributor and Axalta, including:
- annual growth projections
- demand planning
- regional business plans
- organizational development objectives
- training and learning objectives
- pipeline development and management
- team alignment
- market prioritization
- new market launches
- Strategic Sales Integration – Integrate Axalta’s Strategic Sales activities into the distributor’s sales process, and support the development of the distributor’s sales organization.
- Markets – Work with Axalta’s Distribution Director to identify and launch new market opportunities covering all trade and commercial brands.
- Communication – Coordinate quarterly strategic review meetings and use SharePoint, Salesforce, and MS Office to enhance productivity and customer communication.
- Experienced sales professional with an automotive refinish background and a proven track record of successful customer support.
- Bachelor’s degree and/or 5+ years industry experience; proven ability to achieve sales goals.
- 5+ years of selling to or managing relationships with top‑tier distributors preferred.
- Strong business acumen and financial knowledge.
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, relationship‑building, and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills; self‑disciplined and able to perform effectively in autonomous conditions.
- Presents oneself professionally across all levels and considers impact on customers.
- Strong team player who actively supports territory activities and meets customer needs.
- Competent computer skills, proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
