We are looking for an energetic and results-oriented Sales Manager to help grow our hotel’s market presence and revenue performance. This role offers the opportunity to work across multiple business segments, cultivate new business opportunities, and strengthen existing client relationships. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong communication skills, a passion for sales, and the ability to identify and pursue opportunities wherever they exist.
SummaryResponsible for driving revenue growth through proactive business development, relationship-building, and strategic sales initiatives. Identify opportunities across a variety of demand segments, cultivate new business, and maintain strong client relationships. Working closely with hotel leadership, the Sales Manager will develop and execute sales strategies that support occupancy, revenue, and overall hotel goals while delivering exceptional customer service.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain property sales objectives, sales plans, and programs in accordance with the hotel’s mission statement.
Initiates prospecting and solicitation of new accounts from specified market and all regions.
Negotiate account details and contracts, ensuring all aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented.
Draft contracts outlining all booking details and ensure contracts, deposits, and rooming lists are received by their respective deadlines. Probes client needs: rooms, desired dates, food & beverage, meeting room, etc.
Monitor tentative bookings to confirm that signed contracts and deposits are submitted on time, following up with groups if any deadlines are missed.
Collaborate with Director of Sales to establish and maintain sales goals.
Meets and greets all group contacts contracted with as they arrive on property.
Actively seek new business opportunities through networking, partnerships, and participation in local community events.
Keep up to date on the current trends and what competitors are doing.
Flexibility is required, including availability for nights and weekends.
Follows the Sales and Marketing plans. Must meet sales, site, and call goals.
Achieve established revenue, prospecting, site visit, and sales activity goals established by hotel leadership.
Respond to all RFPs (referrals for proposals) and sales leads through PEP system, Meeting Broker, and Cvents. All phone and emails must be returned within 24 hours on weekdays and 48 hours on weekends.
Make decisions on potential business evaluations which affect overall revenue and profitability of the hotel.
Collaborate with hotel operations teams to ensure successful execution of group events and client expectations.
Conduct outside sales calls
-must have a vehicle to use that is in good condition, insured, and a current PA Driver’s License.
Work as Manager on Duty as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of hotel, hospitality, or business-to-business sales experience preferred.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proven ability to prospect, develop, and close new business.
- Experience with hotel sales systems, CRM platforms, or lead management software preferred.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with hotel leadership and operations teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to travel locally for sales calls and networking events.
- Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to attend evening and weekend events as needed.
