Safety Officer

Location: Dallas

Position Overview:

Schedule:

10:00 pm - 6:00 am.

Under the general supervision of a Campus Safety Supervisor, this position is a member of a team of officers responsible for providing personal safety for members of the university community through a courteous, helpful and professional manner. This position provides a highly visual deterrent to campus crime while protecting the property and assets of the university.

Education:

* High School Diploma or GED.

Experience:

* 2 years' security work experience and/or physical security and protection of assets training; emergency services experience including fire and rescue; military and/or law enforcement experience; experience using radio communications equipment.

Work Related Knowledge:

* CPR and First Aid Certification (or recertification provided after hire)

Licenses and

Certifications:

* Valid driver's license.

* Act 34 clearance

* Act 235 (preferred not required).

* Law enforcement certification (preferred not required).

* Complete University safe driver program with van certification within 30 days of hire

(Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications and/or experience may be considered.)

Shift rotation:

* 7 nights working followed by two days off

* 8 nights working followed by four days off

* Long weekend off (Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday) every 3rd weekend

Pay and Benefits:

* Starting at $15.50 / hour, with potential for higher rate based on experience and certifications.

* Double time and ½ pay for designated university holidays.

* Vacation, personal, and sick time provided with full-time status and accrual.
