Job Title: DPS Public Safety Officer
Department: Department of Public Safety
Reports To: Sal Di Benedetto
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Education: No degree required
Experience: some experience preferred
Work Schedule: Multiple Shifts Available
Position SummaryThe Security Patrol Officer plays a key role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for all residents, guests, and staff. This position is responsible for patrolling the community, enforcing rules and regulations, responding to incidents and emergencies, and supporting the overall safety operations of the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities- Conduct routine patrols throughout the community and complete timely, accurate security reports.
- Inspect and secure all Association buildings to prevent loss, accidents, or safety violations.
- Respond promptly to incidents, accidents, and safety concerns, and report them to management.
- Enforce community rules and regulations with professionalism and fairness.
- Respond to alarm activations, medical emergencies, and other urgent calls; coordinate with municipal emergency services as needed.
- Escort emergency vehicles to ensure timely arrival at the scene.
- Maintain detailed daily activity logs and incident reports.
- Perform traffic enforcement duties, including the use of radar equipment.
- Recommend improvements to safety and security procedures.
- Support Member Services operations as needed.
- Maintain working knowledge of Association policies, governing documents, and procedures.
- Follow all health, safety, and OSHA-related protocols.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Attention to detail and situational awareness
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, report writing tools)
- Time management and organizational skills
- Valid Driver’s License
- CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Must pass background check and clearances
