- Under the general direction of the Manager of Plant Operations, assign and lead the work of HVAC mechanics and perform HVAC work as needed.
Job Description

Assign and lead HVAC mechanics, plan installation of new equipment, repair existing equipment, inspect, maintain, and repair piping, HVAC systems, and building controls. Oversee vendor contracts such as chiller plant and building automation, ensuring critical HVAC equipment is operational.
Ensure quality assurance of work, troubleshoot HVAC and refrigeration issues, assist mechanics with problem resolution, and investigate customer complaints related to the environment of care.
Order necessary materials for projects and HVAC shop inventories.
Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on fire systems, ice machines, legionella monitoring, building automation, chillers, towers, heating and cooling systems, valves, and pumps.
Ensure compliance with codes and standards related to fire dampers, pressure, humidity, temperatures, and air balancing.
Read blueprints and sketches, weld, and solder as required.
Assist with inspections by authorities to ensure compliance. Support Fire and Disaster teams as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.
Must be responsible, adaptable to shift work, on-call, and maintain a professional appearance. A clean driving record is required to operate hospital vehicles.
