TITLE: MARINE CONSTRUCTION LABORER
LOCATION: ROCKLEDGE , FL (OPERATING AREA: BREVARD, VOLUSIA, INDIAN RIVER, AND POLK COUNTIES)
FUNCTION: CONSTRUCTION
CLASSIFICATION: FULL TIME – NON-EXEMPT – HOURLY
REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF CONSTRUCTION
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSEnsure proper setup, operation, take-down, cleanliness, organization, and maintenanceof materials, equipment, and machinery
Assistin loading/unloading of materials, equipment, and supplies to and from trucks,jobsites, and barges, ensuring proper stowage and securing of cargo to prevent shifting or damage during transit
If operating on a barge, assist in proper mooring/anchoring of vessels, handling lines, chains, and anchors in accordance with established procedures and safety guidelines
Perform tasks aligned to projects: demolition, construction, and/or installation of seawalls, docks, piles, boat lifts: digging, shoveling, leveling, lifting, carrying,carpentry, framing, rigging, positioning structural components, and working with a wide variety of tools and equipment
Ensure construction equipment and tools are clean, organized, and stored in an orderly fashion after each use. Dispose of rubble/debris/trash and hazardous, worn,damaged, outdated, or other waste materials from work areas and maintain abaseline organization and site cleanliness
Assist with routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning/painting/lubricating equipment& machinery. Identify and report any maintenance issues or safety hazardsto the appropriate personnel for resolution
Requirements ESSENTIAL JOB, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current, valid driver’s license
- Conversational in English
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
- Ability to work a full shift inextreme heat
- Ability to swim
- Ability to pass a controlled substance screening
- Ability to pass a background check
- Experience in marine construction
- Possess a working knowledge of engineering drawings, sketches, and blueprints
- OSHA 10 Certified
- CPR &First Aid Certified
- Class A CDLlicense
