Summary
As a Vapor Technician, you will play an important role in keeping our operations running safely and efficiently. In this position, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining Vapor Control Units and associated Continuous Emissions Monitoring equipment. This role offers flexibility in work location and can be based out of Aston, Philadelphia, or Malvern, PA.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The essential job duties for this position are listed below:
- Keep all equipment running at peak efficiency in accordance with Federal, State, and local compliance regulations.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns, troubleshoot operational problems, and maintain detailed inspection records.
- Provide additional support to other areas as needed.
- Act as company representative on new capital equipment installation performing site acceptance testing. Knowledge of National Electrical Code and installation requirements.
- Must be capable of consistently delivering a high level of workmanship.
- Oversee contractors engaged in repairs, inspections, and maintenance of Vapor Control and terminal equipment. Maintain professional knowledge and expertise in an environment of rapidly changing technology.
- This is a multi‑craft position including mechanical trades, pipe fitting, electrical & instrumentation repair. Off‑hour call‑outs and overtime are a normal expectation and carrying a smart phone is required.
- Overnight travel to some locations will be required.
- High School graduate or equivalent along with a Technical Diploma or Associate’s degree in Electrical or Technical discipline is acceptable.
- Proficient in electrical and instrumentation troubleshooting (including voltages up to 480 Volt). Proficient in the use of personal computers and Windows based software including Microsoft Office.
- Advanced level of analytical skills to find solutions to difficult technical problems.
- Well versed in PLC architecture including Allen Bradley and GE. Proficient in troubleshooting motor control issues throughout the terminals.
- Basic Millwright skills for multiple types of rotating equipment including blowers, pumps and motors.
- Experience in installation, repair and troubleshooting motor operated valves.
- Frequently assist terminal operations remotely by phone or computer.
- Proficient in emissions analyzers and data storage.
- Knowledge of terminal operations and process control systems is a plus. Must be a self-starter who is able to work independently without close supervision. Must demonstrate safe work habits, high environmental standards and excellent time management skills.
- Honesty, integrity and professionalism are critical requirements.
- Level C requires a minimum of 0–2 years of relevant industry experience or equivalent work experience.
- Level B requires a minimum of 2–4 years of relevant industry experience or equivalent work experience.
- Level A requires a minimum of 4+ years of relevant industry experience or equivalent work experience.
