, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of pipeline and compressor station facilities. This entry-level opportunity is ideal for individuals with a solid foundation in electrical and control systems who are eager to grow in a dynamic industrial environment. As your skills develop, you will also gain operational experience and progress toward becoming a Level I Station Operator, building a well-rounded understanding of both technical maintenance and station operations.
- Maintain and service electrical systems and equipment, including switch gear, motors, generators, pumps, and fans.
- Maintain DC electrical systems, including batteries, chargers, rectifiers, and inverters.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and control networks.
- Maintain field instrumentation and end devices, including motor controls, transmitters, sensors, switches, solenoids, and actuators.
- Support the maintenance and testing of safety systems, including Emergency Shutdown (ESD) panels, gas detectors, flame detectors, and manual activation systems.
- Assist with work planning activities and provide input to the annual budgeting process.
- Ensure the proper operation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of station systems, including:
- Air systems and air dryers
- Fuel systems
- Cooling systems
- Gas compression equipment
- Prime movers and related station equipment
- Troubleshoot equipment issues to support continuous and reliable gas delivery operations.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Follow all safety, environmental, compliance, and operational standards.
- Participate in on-call rotations, standby assignments, overtime, and emergency response activities as required.
- Support ongoing learning and development toward advancement as an Electrical Controls Technician and Level I Station Operator.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of two (2) years of electrical and/or instrumentation experience in an industrial setting, or equivalent experience demonstrating the ability to independently perform Technician Level I responsibilities.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to maintain an acceptable driving record.
- Associate degree in a relevant technical field is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of industrial electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, control networks, and industrial automation equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, schematics, and operational documentation.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to safety, operational excellence, and continuous learning.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in all weather conditions.
- Must reside within 30 miles of the assigned reporting location.
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 45 pounds.
- Ability to climb, crawl, balance, kneel, bend, stoop, and reach overhead.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions and prolonged physical activities.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Visual acuity sufficient to read fine print, interpret color coding, and view computer screens and equipment displays.
- Hearing ability sufficient for effective communication and workplace safety awareness.
- Ability to understand, retain, and apply written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to analyze and solve moderately complex problems.
- Ability to communicate effectively through verbal discussions, reports, logs, and routine documentation.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks within short-term timelines.
- Ability to make sound decisions with moderate impact on operations and work activities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members to troubleshoot issues and improve processes.
