Electrician Lead

The Electrician Lead oversees the installation of electrical systems for large custom modular buildings, including schools, hospitals, banks, restaurants, and offices. This role works closely with an internal team of plumbers, carpenters, welders, and laborers to build each unit from start to finish, ensuring all electrical work follows blueprints and complies with national electrical codes. The Electrician Lead reports directly to the project site and plays a key role in bringing complex commercial structures to life.

Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret electrical blueprints and plans to determine the layout and installation requirements for commercial modular buildings.
  • Install electrical systems in commercial structures in accordance with national electrical codes and company standards.
  • Run and pull electrical wire throughout modular units, ensuring neat, safe, and code-compliant installations.
  • Bend and install conduit, including planning conduit runs and making accurate bends to fit design specifications.
  • Install electrical boxes, devices, fixtures, and related components as indicated on prints and schematics.
  • Terminate wires into boxes, panels, and devices, ensuring secure connections and proper labeling.
  • Coordinate daily tasks with other trades such as plumbers, carpenters, welders, and laborers to support efficient start-to-finish unit construction.
  • Inspect completed work for quality, safety, and code compliance, and make adjustments or corrections as needed.
  • Use appropriate hand tools and trade tools to safely and efficiently complete electrical installations.
  • Support assembly and final installation of structures at project finish locations when selected to travel to the site.

Essential Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in commercial electrical work.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical plans.
  • Thorough knowledge of national electrical codes and their application in commercial buildings.
  • Proficiency in bending conduit and planning conduit runs.
  • Experience running, pulling, and terminating electrical wire in commercial environments.
  • Skill in installing electrical boxes, fixtures, devices, and related components.
  • Competence with electrical wiring, conduit installation, and conduit bending.
  • Ownership and proficient use of standard hand tools of the electrical trade.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other trades in a modular construction setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working in commercial modular construction environments.
  • Familiarity with plumbing-related materials such as PVC, PEX, copper, and cast iron when coordinating with other trades.
  • Capability to adapt to both indoor and outdoor work conditions as projects progress.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality, code-compliant work.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to project finish locations to assist with structure assembly, when selected.
  • Flexibility to handle varying project types, including schools, hospitals, banks, restaurants, and office buildings.

Work Environment

You will work primarily at a centralized site, either inside a large hangar or in the yard once the building is roughed in. The environment is a hands-on modular construction setting where multiple trades collaborate to complete each unit.
