- Perform state-mandated safety and emissions inspections on passenger vehicles and light trucks.
- Conduct visual and functional checks of key systems including brakes, lights, tires, suspension, and exhaust.
- Operate emissions testing equipment to assess compliance with environmental regulations.
- Identify and report any safety issues or emissions failures according to established guidelines.
- Complete inspection reports and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Reset onboard diagnostic (OBD) systems and clear codes as needed post-inspection or repair.
- Assist senior technicians with basic maintenance and repair tasks as assigned.
- Maintain cleanliness, calibration, and functionality of inspection and emissions equipment.
- Ensure adherence to all state regulations and company policies regarding vehicle inspections.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding inspection results and next steps if repairs are needed.
- Certifications: State inspection and emissions licenses. ASE certifications are a plus.
- Tool Proficiency: Familiarity with diagnostic tools, repair equipment, and the ability to use them independently.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to follow technical instructions and complete repairs to manufacturer specifications.
- Customer Service: Strong communication skills to explain repairs and collaborate effectively with Service Advisors.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of a technical school program is advantageous.
- Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Experience working with CDJR (Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram) vehicles.
- Familiarity with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) repair standards and processes.
