Graymont is hiring an electrician at its Pleasant Gap, Pennsylvania location. Duties and responsibilities include passing a comprehensive written and hands-on test, having a certificate of completion indicating a minimum of two years schooling on industrial electricity or proof of equivalent work experience, reading, understanding, troubleshooting, and performing electrical work from electrical schematics, and being capable and able to consistently perform the duties of an Electrician "B" to the fullest extent, including but not limited to AC volt motor control circuits, DC motors and controls, Variable Frequency Drives, soft start AC drives, and experience working with 110 Vac, 480 Vac, and 4160 Vac.
The role also involves performing substation maintenance work, being familiar with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and the use of a laptop for troubleshooting equipment issues, performing ground tests and evaluating, repairing, and maintaining a good grounding system, having a full understanding of all electrical systems and maintaining them in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the current National Electrical Code, performing minor cutting and carpentry jobs as related to electrical work being done, operating all job-related equipment, providing tools up to ½" drive socket and wrenches up to 1 ¼", conduit installations in a neat and professional manner, working from wiring diagrams, sketches, catalogs, and parts lists, marking up drawings when dealing with new installations, efficiently inspecting equipment that has failed, diagnosing the problem, and coming up with a safe repair procedure in a timely manner to get the equipment back in production, maintaining a current PA driver's license, performing work with minimum supervision, being willing to work the majority of overtime under the circumstances of the job including emergencies, following safety rules and regulations, good housekeeping, and clean-up procedures on all jobs, performing other work as assigned by supervisor, conforming to company work rules, and MSHA regulations pertaining to each task performed, and reporting promptly anything requiring attention to your supervisor.
