Maintenance Technician — Gordon Food Service

The maintenance team keeps facilities and equipment running smoothly to support operations and customer service. This role involves hands-on work with building systems, schematics/blueprints, hydraulics, electrical troubleshooting, HVAC, conveyors, cranes, hi-speed doors, and related equipment. The role emphasizes safety, training, and professional development.
Responsibilities- Maintain Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIV), fire protection systems, dock equipment, lighting, doors, batteries/chargers, racking, and related duties.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on buildings and building systems; respond to service calls and implement system improvements.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and other guidelines; maintain a clean, organized maintenance shop and tool areas.
- Track and complete preventive maintenance using CMMS (e.g., Maximo) and manage work orders within specified time frames.
- Monitor inventory levels for maintenance materials and equipment.
- Adhere to company mission, values, and practices; pursue ongoing knowledge of field trends and developments.
- Collaborate with leadership and peers to address maintenance needs and improve reliability.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or GED; technical certifications preferred.
- Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) certification required.
- Minimum one year maintaining/repairing PIV or warehouse-related equipment and facilities.
- Ability to work in various conditions (high places, cold spaces, inside/outside) and lift/move up to 100 lbs.
- Successful passing of drug screen and background check; veterans encouraged to apply.
- Basic mechanical skills: component identification, safe use of hand tools, basic PMs, lubrication knowledge, motor removal/replacement, hydraulic/pump work, and reading building drawings.
- Basic electrical skills: continuity checks, amp draw, voltage phasing, and understanding arc flash safety and drawings.
- Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and communication skills; ability to explain issues and progress to leadership.
- Proficiency with CMMS, documentation, and safety practices.
- Minimum one year maintaining and repairing PIV or warehouse-related equipment and facilities.
- Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Engineering, or equivalent certifications/degrees or verifiable field experience preferred.
- High School / Equivalent required.
