Skilled Construction Technician

When disaster strikes, families and businesses depend on SERVPRO to restore not only their property but their peace of mind. As a Skilled Reconstruction Technician, you play a vital role in rebuilding homes and businesses after fire, water, storm, and other property damage.

Position Summary

The Skilled Construction Technician performs a wide variety of residential and commercial reconstruction services while maintaining SERVPRO's high standards for quality, professionalism, and customer satisfaction. This position works closely with the Construction Manager and Construction Coordinator to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and “Like it never even happened.”

Primary Responsibilities Construction & Repair
  • Perform skilled reconstruction services including drywall installation and finishing, painting, trim and finish carpentry, flooring installation and repairs, cabinet installation and repairs, door and window installation, and general punch list work.
  • Complete projects according to approved plans, specifications, and local building codes.
  • Identify and communicate any additional work outside the original scope.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site.
Project Support
  • Assist with scheduling projects alongside the Construction Manager and Construction Coordinator.
  • Pick up and deliver materials as needed.
  • Coordinate and verify material deliveries.
  • Help manage subcontractors and vendors to ensure quality workmanship.
  • Participate in pre‑construction meetings and final walkthroughs when requested.
  • Complete punch list items promptly to ensure customer satisfaction.
Documentation & Communication
  • Document daily job progress using photos and electronic job notes.
  • Provide daily project updates to the Construction Coordinator.
  • Communicate professionally with customers regarding project status.
  • Assist in documenting and processing change orders.
  • Obtain Completion Certificates and Certificates of Satisfaction upon project completion.
Quality & Customer Service
  • Deliver exceptional workmanship on every project.
  • Ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
  • Conduct quality inspections throughout the project.
  • Help maintain SERVPRO's reputation for outstanding customer service.
  • Represent the company professionally at all times.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience in residential construction, remodeling, restoration, or a related trade preferred.
  • Experience with drywall, painting, trim carpentry, flooring, or finish work preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Basic math and measuring skills.
  • Ability to read work orders and follow project specifications.
  • Self‑motivated with strong attention to detail.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift throughout the workday.
  • Frequently lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Operate hand and power tools safely.
  • Climb ladders and work at varying heights as needed.
  • Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Drive company vehicles to and from job sites.
  • Ability to work in environments that may be dusty, noisy, hot, or cold.
