MV Transportation seeks a Mechanic to perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on a fleet of transit vehicles supporting safe, reliable community transportation. This role handles preventive maintenance, troubleshoots mechanical, electrical, brake, and HVAC issues, and completes DOT-compliant inspections and documentation. Working in a safety-focused, team-oriented shop, the Mechanic helps ensure vehicles are road-ready, responds to breakdowns, and supports continuous improvement in fleet reliability and service quality for passengers.
Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and safety inspections on transit vehicles
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, brake, and HVAC issues
- Conduct DOT-compliant inspections and maintain accurate maintenance records
- Use diagnostic software, tools, and equipment safely and effectively
- Respond to road calls and breakdowns to restore vehicles to service
- Follow all shop, safety, and environmental procedures and regulations
- Collaborate with supervisors and teammates to prioritize repairs and minimize downtime
- Support continuous improvement in fleet reliability and maintenance practices
