Heavy Equipment & Truck Mechanic – Direct Hire

Position:
Heavy Equipment & Truck Mechanic (Direct Hire) – Pay up to $36/hr – Flexible 4‑Day or 5‑Day Schedule.

TOPS Staffing is hiring an experienced Heavy Equipment & Truck Mechanic for a direct hire role with an industrial contractor serving the greater Pittsburgh area. This is a hands‑on position working on a wide variety of heavy equipment, commercial trucks, trailers and construction equipment, including occasional field service with a company truck.

• Direct Hire Pay:
  Up to $36.00/hour (based on experience)
• Schedule Options:
  Monday‑Friday (5×8‑hour shifts), Monday‑Thursday (4×10‑hour shifts), occasional overtime available

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment, commercial trucks, trailers and diesel‑powered equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and DOT/Class 7 inspections.
• Repair diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulic systems, brakes, steering, suspension, and electrical components.
• Perform field service repairs using a company service truck when needed.
• Complete repair orders, inspection reports and maintenance documentation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all company safety procedures and DOT regulations.

• Minimum 2 years heavy equipment, diesel truck or fleet maintenance experience.
• Strong diagnostic and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience working with diesel engines and hydraulic systems.
• Valid ClassB CDL required;
  ClassA CDL is a plus.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality repairs.
