Truck Service / Preventive Maintenance Technician
Job Type: Full-Time
Position SummaryWe are seeking a Truck Service / Preventive Maintenance Technician to join our growing team. This position performs routine preventive maintenance and light mechanical service on commercial and heavy-duty trucks while assisting our lead technicians with additional service and repair work.
The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically inclined, safety-minded, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities- Perform preventive maintenance (PM) services on commercial and heavy-duty vehicles.
- Change engine oil, fuel, air, and oil filters.
- Lubricate chassis and other components.
- Inspect and service tires; check and adjust tire pressure.
- Inspect and adjust brakes.
- Perform basic wiring and lighting repairs.
- Inspect vehicles and identify additional maintenance or repair needs.
- Assist lead technicians with repairs and service when PM work is completed.
- Safely use hand tools, air tools, tire tools, and other shop equipment.
- Maintain accurate service and repair records.
- Keep work areas, tools, and equipment clean and properly maintained.
- Follow all company safety procedures and applicable federal and state regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Basic automotive or heavy-duty mechanical knowledge.
- Previous truck, fleet, tire, or preventive maintenance experience preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license required.
- CDL Class A or B is a plus, but not required.
- State Inspection License is a plus.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.
We're looking for someone who takes pride in doing quality work, keeps equipment safe and road-ready, and is willing to step in and help the team when needed. This is a hands-on position with opportunities to develop additional mechanical and truck service skills.
