DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports the maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment, and structures across the Shikellamy State Park Complex. The role uses a wide range of trade skills to keep facilities safe and operational. As a Maintenance Repairman 2, you will perform the following duties:

  • Carpentry Work:
    Repair or install wooden structures and fixtures across park facilities
  • Plumbing Tasks:
    Fix leaks, open drains, and maintain plumbing systems throughout the complex
  • Masonry Projects:
    Build and repair concrete forms, walkways, walls, and building foundations
  • Electrical Repairs:
    Replace wiring, fixtures, and related components to keep systems functioning safely
  • Equipment Operation:
    Operate vehicles and machinery to support daily maintenance activities
  • Landscape Care:
    Maintain turf, trails, and outdoor areas through mowing, pruning, and general upkeep

Work Schedule and Additional Information
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Days and shifts will vary due to the seasonal nature of the position.
  • Telework:
    You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary:

    In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements
  • Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
Special Requirement
  • This position requires possession a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
Other Requirements
  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
