The H&K Group is seeking an experienced Trackhoe Operator to join our Skilled Labor team in the construction industry. In this role, you will safely operate trackhoes and related heavy equipment to excavate, load, and move materials on active job sites. Responsibilities include reading site plans, performing pre- and post-operation inspections, maintaining equipment, and working closely with site supervisors and crew members to meet project goals.

Responsibilities
- Operate trackhoe excavators to perform excavation, trenching, grading, and back filling on construction sites
- Follow directions from foremen, superintendents, and engineers to achieve required grades and slopes
- Read and work from grade stakes, markings, and basic site layout information
- Conduct daily pre- and post-operation inspections of the trackhoe and report maintenance needs
- Assist with basic preventive maintenance such as greasing, cleaning, and monitoring fluid levels
- Operate equipment in compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and regulations
- Maintain awareness of underground utilities, overhead hazards, and nearby workers and equipment
- Coordinate with truck drivers and other equipment operators for efficient loading and material movement
- Work effectively as part of a field crew, communicating clearly with supervisors and coworkers
- Adapt to changing site conditions, weather, and project priorities while maintaining productivity and quality
Required Skills
- Heavy equipment operation (trackhoe/excavator)
- Site excavation and trenching
- Rough and fine grading
- Reading and following grade stakes/layout marks
- Construction safety practices and OSHA awareness
- Basic equipment inspection and preventive maintenance
- Soil awareness and safe trenching techniques
- Spatial awareness and machine control
- Communication with field crews and supervisors
- Basic understanding of civil/site construction processes
