This position plays a key role in maintaining, repairing, and improving electrical systems throughout the hospital. It supports safe operations through skilled planning, troubleshooting, and hands-on work. As an Electrician 1, you will perform the following duties:

• Project Planning: Review blueprints and determine the layout, sequence, and methods needed for electrical tasks
• System Installation: Install wiring, conduits, fixtures, and components for new construction and renovation projects
• Technical Troubleshooting: Identify electrical issues and work with technicians or contractors to resolve complex problems
• Work Oversight: Guide and instruct trainees and other employees during repair and installation work
• Record Maintenance: Update technical drawings and records to reflect changes made during projects
• Safety Compliance: Follow safety practices when using ladders, lift equipment, and protective gear

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Overtime & Travel: as needed.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility

Qualifications

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Successful completion of the Electrician Trainee program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Four years of experience installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems, components, and equipment; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

• This position requires possession of a valid license as a journey-level electrician issued by the local Pennsylvania jurisdiction.
• This position requires possession of an active motor vehicle license.

Other Requirements:

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
