DESCRIPTIONOF WORK
This role focuses on teaching plumbing skills and overseeing inmate work in both classroom and job site settings. The position supports smooth facility operations while guiding inmates through structured learning. As a Corrections Plumbing Trade Instructor, you will perform the following duties:
- Training Delivery:
Teach plumbing practices, systems, and procedures in classroom and work settings - Crew Oversight:
Direct inmate work crews and inspect completed assignments - Record Keeping:
Document training progress, attendance, and daily schedules - Tool Control:
Manage, issue, and inventory tools and materials used during training - Material Planning:
Determine needed supplies and submit purchase requests

Work Schedule and Additional Information- Full-time employment, 40-hour work week
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

You will not have the option to telework in this position. - Salary:
Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $53,036.00 (before taxes). - You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. - Five years of experience in the inspection, maintenance, repair, assembly, and installation of pipes, fittings, and fixtures used in heating, water, and drainage systems; or
- Completion of an approved apprenticeship in the plumbing trade; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year of journey level work in the plumbing trade.

- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
