PositionSummary
We're seeking an experienced Lead Fire Alarm Technician to join our Alarm Division team. In this role, you'll lead and perform the installation, service, repair, programming, and routine maintenance of fire alarm systems while helping ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and in accordance with project requirements and applicable codes.
This is a hands-on lead opportunity for an experienced fire alarm installer who is comfortable with basic system programming.
What You'll Be Doing- Lead and perform fire alarm system installations in accordance with plans, specifications, manufacturer requirements, and applicable fire and building codes.
- Provide on-site direction and technical support to technicians while helping maintain quality, productivity, and safe work practices.
- Install devices, pull and terminate wiring, replace components, complete wiring repairs, and troubleshoot circuits.
- Perform basic fire alarm panel programming in accordance with project specifications, system design, and NFPA 72 requirements.
- Service, repair, test, and maintain fire alarm systems in a timely, professional, and high-quality manner.
- Communicate project progress, material needs, technical concerns, and field conditions to project leadership.
- Represent Oliver professionally and help build positive customer relationships on every job site.
- Participate in training opportunities and the after-hours on-call rotation as needed.
- At least three years of fire alarm installation experience.
- Working knowledge of fire alarm installation methods, materials, wiring, devices, and applicable codes.
- Basic experience programming fire alarm panels; brand-specific programming experience is not required.
- Ability to troubleshoot fire alarm circuits and complete service and repair work.
- Valid driver's license and basic computer skills.
- Professional communication skills and the ability to provide direction and support to other technicians in the field.
- Previous experience serving as a lead technician or taking ownership of work on active job sites.
- Additional fire alarm service, testing, inspection, or maintenance experience.
