Shop Mechanic Heavy Trucks & Equipment

** Berg Construction is a locally owned and operated excavation company. We are currently growing and are looking to hire a Shop Mechanic/Service Technician to join our Team. The Shop Mechanic will diagnose and repair heavy equipment and trucks, in a safe manner to allow our field personnel to return to work. This position works on location most of the time.**

** The Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing issues on automotive, heavy trucks and a variety of construction equipment.**

• ** Complete repairs on various types of truck & equipment**
• ** Troubleshoot, repair and maintain of mechanical, electrical, hydraulics and diesel systems**
• ** Provide on-site personnel basic training, as needed**

• ** At least 2 years' preferred experience with heavy construction equipment**
• ** Ability to effectively diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment problems**
• ** Strong initiative required; ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision**
• ** Have a clear understanding of the necessity of equipment safety**
• ** Must have basic set of mechanic's hand tools**
• ** Must be able to work on several types and brands of equipment**
• ** Valid Driver's License, CDL preferred but not required**
• ** Must be able to pass drug test and background check**
