Keystone Church is seeking a senior-level Shepherding Pastor to help cultivate a culture of congregational care and biblical counseling in a growing EFCA church. Serving alongside our lead and preaching pastors, this role will equip leaders and members to care well for one another and provide oversight for pastoral care and counseling. We are looking for a theologically grounded, relationally wise shepherd who delights in equipping the saints and building sustainable systems of gospel-centered care in the local church.
Primary Responsibilities:- Oversee Congregational Care:

Identify needs - Assessment:
Discern complexity, sensitivity and urgency of need - Direction:
Delegate care based on training and competence required - Provision:
Care and counsel, as needed - Follow-Up:
Discern progress and modify caring strategy, as needed - Multiplication:
Foster a culture of congregational care by developing and deploying compassionate care givers who can pray and care for others
- Discovery:
- Oversee Counseling:
- Provide truth and grace shaped by the gospel and authority of Scripture to help others pursue healing, repentance and obedience to Christ
- Walk beside people who are navigating complex challenges (issues of identity, image, marriage, parenting, anxiety, grief, depression, shame, trauma, conflict, etc.) with compassion and conviction
- Maintain confidentiality, appropriate boundaries and accurate documentation consistent with Keystone’s counseling policies and procedures
- Discern frequency and duration of counseling and next steps for care and formation
- Coordinate case assignments, ongoing assessment of counseling needs, appropriate referrals and establishing healthy rhythms of care
- Oversee care director and counselors
- Oversee alignment of compassion, men’s, women’s, adoption and marriage ministries
- Embodies an Elder-Caliber Man (1 Tim. 3:1-7, Titus 1:6-9 and 1 Pet. 5:1-5)
- Embraces Keystone’s secondary issues and culture
- Shares a gospel-centered view of all of life
- Compassionate, man of prayer & proven disciplemaker
- Confident leader and humble team-player
- Strong sense of calling
- Education:
Minimum four-year Bible/ministry undergraduate degree. (Master's desired, not required.) - Experience:
Five years vocational ministry experience
