Position: Bilingual Clinician, Master's Level

We are hiring full-time Clinical Therapists, Social Workers, MSW to join our team at Abraxas Academy in Morgantown, PA. Here, you will help at-risk adolescents BUILD BETTER FUTURES.

Abraxas Academy is located minutes off of Exit 298 of the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Berks County and provides detention and treatment services for court committed youth.

Salary: $65,000 Annually

Job Type: Full-time

MUST BE BILINGUAL - SPANISH SPEAKING

Responsibilities
  • Provide therapy work in a trauma-focused residential treatment facility for male youth. Training and supervision provided in several trauma intervention models. Provide individual, family, and group therapy. Must have professional writing skills and ability to work well with treatment team members.
  • As a Clinical Therapist | Clinician, provide clinical services, and support clinical development for the facility. Ensure documentation is completed in a timely manner and meet regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate interfacing of clinical services with educational, medical, community services, family services, and the training department.
  • Perform assessments, develop treatment plans, and write monthly reports on client behavior, attitude, achievement, education, and overall progress.
  • Confer with judges, probation officers, police, social service agencies, and community groups to support facility goals and build cooperative relationships.
  • Interact with school staff to align treatment goals with educational outcomes.
  • Supervise, assist with hiring, and evaluate staff performance; develop objectives and implement corrective actions as needed in line with HR policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information and ensure safety and security of the program/facility.
  • Respond to regulatory and licensing requirements; participate in MDT meetings and in-service trainings; provide clinical consultations as needed.
  • Serve as liaison with external contacts such as probation officers, family members, and other stakeholders.
  • Promote the Seven Key Principles of care and Safe Crisis Management techniques.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling or related discipline (or chemical dependency, nursing, or related field) with at least one year of clinical experience.
  • At least twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Criminal clearances (Act 33 and 34, state and child clearances; FBI if required).
  • Must pass federal and state background checks (drug-related, violent, sexual abuse, domestic violence, child abuse, repeated misdemeanors).
  • Non-communicable diseases physical exam.
  • Valid driver’s license and valid vehicle insurance.
  • Ability to work bilingual in English and Spanish.
