The Position
A County Caseworker 2 with Delaware County Children & Youth provides direct services to children and families affected by abuse or neglect. The role involves assessments, support, and coordination to promote safety and well‑being.
Description of WorkThe focus is on directly serving children and families in homes and community settings while ensuring safety and stability.
- Conduct Assessments
:
Complete investigations and evaluate safety concerns for children and families. - Provide Case Management
:
Coordinate services and track progress for each assigned case. - Support Families
:
Offer guidance in parenting, budgeting, employment, and daily living skills. - Arrange Placements
:
Place children in foster homes when necessary to maintain safety. - Coordinate Services
:
Work with community partners and make referrals to strengthen support systems. - Participate in Training
:
Engage in required training programs leading to caseworker certification.

Work Schedule and Additional Information- Full‑time employment.
- Work hours:
8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday–Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch break. - Telework
:
No telework for the first six months; after that, hybrid work may be available per program schedule. - Further communication regarding this position will be sent via email.
- Six months of experience as a County Caseworker 1;
or - Successful completion of the County Social Casework Intern program;
or - A bachelor's degree with a social welfare major;
or - A bachelor's degree supplemented by 12 college credits in social welfare or related social sciences and one year of professional casework experience in a public or private agency;
or - Any equivalent combination of experience and training including 12 college credits in related social sciences.
- Applicants considered within two months of graduating with a qualifying degree or credits.
- Other Requirements
: - PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- Legal Requirements
: - Must pass a background investigation.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law, requiring a criminal history report for conditional offers.
