As a County Caseworker with Fulton County C & Y, you will be part of an agency focused on strengthening families and promoting safe environments for children. DESCRIPTION OF WORKThe position supports the safety and well‑being of children and families by managing reports, services, and documentation with care and accuracy. It involves direct contact with the community and steady collaboration with supervisors and court partners. Key duties include:
- Report Handling: Receive and investigate reports of child abuse and neglect.
- Family Support Services: Provide in‑home case management services with guidance from the Casework Supervisor.
- Court Participation: Take part in court activities, including placement processes and adoption‑related matters.
- Compliance Training: Learn and apply agency rules and regulations through ongoing training programs.
- Timely Documentation: Enter case data and maintain case files within required time frames.
- Full‑time employment.
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch break.
- Mandatory on‑call rotation.
- Telework: Not available for this position.
- Two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 and two years of college‑level coursework, including 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
- A bachelor’s degree with or supplemented by successful completion of 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 or in a similar position performing paraprofessional case‑management functions.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within two months of graduating with a qualifying degree or credits.
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license that is not under suspension.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI fingerprint clearance.
