Case Manager/Program Aide
Case Manager/Program Aide provides face-to-face services with program participants to address compliance with court ordered conditions, compliance with reporting, and to provide drug screening services. This position is also assists the Unit Supervisor/Program Coordinator with program-related activities, assists as a liaison to the Courts, and cooperates closely with Probation/Pretrial Officers. Case Manager/Program Aide may be responsible for community referrals (e.g. housing, pre-natal care, victim services, legal assistance, childcare, basic needs, etc.)
and assists with community support to encourage program participants to reach goals (e.g. make court appearances, gain employment, meet education/vocational goals, etc.). Case Manager/Program Aide will coordinate and provide alumni support (for Treatment Court), conduct, may conduct assessments, process applications, and may make court appearances. Employees in this class will work closely with the public, Probation Services, and the Courts.
All work performed will be done on a schedule set by the Unit Supervisor/Program Coordinator, with the potential for nonconventional hours (nights and weekends). Salary is based upon a 35 hour work week.
Caseload maintenance/offender management for those under the supervision with specific documentation on program participation and compliance via approved records management systems (PAJCIS and/or AP). Compile written reports or recommendations on the outcome interviews, assessments, application, etc, in strict compliance with confidentiality standards. Establish drug testing schedules, collect specimens in compliance with observation and chain of custody protocols, document outcomes, and/or testify in Court as to the outcome of testing.
Post data and/or collect monies owed (Treatment Court only). Other duties as directed by a supervisor.
Skills and Abilities
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work with detailed information including case planning and fiscal information.
- Ability to organize data and compile reports.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Good verbal communication skills, comfort with interviewing, and comfort with public speaking.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals, other agencies, institutions, and the public.
- Ability to deal with individuals who may be uncooperative or evasive with answers.
- Ability to maintain a working knowledge of Probation Services records management systems and other approved applications.
Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, and must possess a valid driver's license.
