The Assistant Director, Student CARE & Support contributes to the Office of the Dean of Students at Bucknell University. The role provides a safe, consistent environment conducive to learning by supporting the CARE (Campus Assessment, Response & Evaluation) and SOS (Student Outreach & Support) programs. Responsibilities include assisting students of concern, assessing risk to campus safety, managing case information, collaborating on crisis management plans, facilitating confidential communication among stakeholders, and delivering training and outreach initiatives.
Responsibilities- Manage SOS & CARE caseload: review incoming reports, confirm/update concern type, conduct student outreach, implement intervention strategies, and advise students on campus resources.
- Attend weekly case management meetings with SOS Leads/CDs per Associate Director’s request and assist with meeting agendas.
- Support Academic Flexibility Requests by collaborating with the Associate Dean, Health & Wellness; communicate with students, review documentation, and document outcomes.
- Provide training for student staff (RA, PA, JF, RF, etc.) and professional staff (SOS Leads) on CARE & SOS processes and available resources.
- Assist in developing and updating training materials—including slide decks, case flow documents, and associated forms.
- Serve as a resource for Student CARE & SOS; consult with institutional and community stakeholders (faculty, Public Safety, Housing, Student Life, TitleIX, etc.) and reporters.
- Communicate with campus partners to advocate for students, build rapport, and share needed information.
- Support Maxient CMS management: review system users, access levels, reporting forms, and provide case analysis and reporting.
- Engage in data review to support data‑informed decision making regarding student experience, service gaps, success, and campus trends.
- Other non‑essential tasks or responsibilities as assigned.
- Master’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Justice, Higher Education, Social Work, or a related field.
- Two (2) or more years of related work experience.
- Four (4) or more years of experience in case management, incident management, or a related field.
- Experience with Maxient CMS or a similar CMS.
- Ability to work in an office setting, including sitting, standing, and moving about the office and campus, with or without accommodations.
Salary Range: $44,600.00 – $55,750.00 (rate based on qualifications, internal equity, and overall compensation philosophy).
