As a County Social Services Aide 1, your work focuses on assisting families with daily needs and supporting children through supervised visits, transportation, and in-home guidance. This is an excellent opportunity for one-on-one assistance and communication with families to work toward positive goals and outcomes. In this role, you will perform the following duties:

• Family Support: Provide training and guidance in budgeting, parenting, nutrition, and home care
• Visit Supervision: Monitor and support visits between children and parents in safe settings
• Transportation Assistance: Transport clients to appointments, services, and supervised visits as required
• Home Assistance: Help families with daily household needs, errands, and emergency support tasks
• Record Documentation: Prepare written updates, maintain files, and report information to caseworkers
• Community Coordination: Assist with programs, meetings, and activities that support children and families

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
• Possible travel requiring overnight stays.
• Possible after-hour appointments for supervised visitation and transportation.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Graduation from high school; or
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience.

Other Requirements:

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

• You must pass a background investigation.
• A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
• Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
