Essential Job Functions
  • Develop and monitor employment outcomes for a caseload of employed individuals, supporting them to achieve career goals such as additional responsibilities, higher pay, and promotions.
  • Assist individuals with job maintenance by teaching personal and professional skills that facilitate successful employment and support employer needs.
  • Facilitate communication between the individual, their employer, and their support team.
  • Maintain relationships with employers to ensure the DPV Day Program’s Employment Services meet business needs.
  • Support individuals in developing strategies and making informed choices regarding self‑advocacy, health, safety, and career direction.
  • Use professional, positive, person‑first language and communication techniques to build rapport with service recipients, family members, the business community, and agency personnel.
  • Maintain accurate records of community‑based work assessments, progress reports, employer documentation, and billing. Stay current with agency technology for data collection, compilation, evaluation, and submission per department timelines.
  • Monitor and adjust Units Utilized forms to ensure appropriate utilization and request critical revisions via team forms.
Other Job Functions
  • Complete all required Employment Services trainings to deliver services consistent with best practices.
  • Act as a cohesive team member with coworkers, internal departments, and external organizations to support employment outcomes and service quality.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures of the DPV Day Program Employment Services Department and DPD, maintaining confidentiality and best practices.
  • Perform emergency duties as requested in the best interest of the program and its recipients and employees.
  • Develop required reports and maintain individual files, including monthlies, quarterlies, communication logs, and incident reports.
  • Upon authorization of a new individual, thoroughly review all important documents such as ISP and behavior support plan.
  • Train individuals to use public transportation to travel to and from work.
  • Assist individuals in building workplace relationships and self‑advocacy.
  • Participate in all Pre‑ISP/ISP meetings and employment updates.
  • Attend all Employment Team Meetings and trainings.
  • Complete daily case notes by noon the following day.
  • Submit schedules to supervisor and timesheets by the end of each pay period.
  • Complete monthly summaries.
  • Submit employment placement and termination forms within five days.
  • Check email and voicemail daily; respond within 24 hours.
  • Communicate with team members via email, phone calls, and meetings.
  • Visit each individual at least once per month.
Qualifications
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Professional and respectful demeanor.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively with teammates.
  • Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and authorization from the Office for Insurance Services to operate Archdiocese vehicles (maintain authorization throughout employment).
  • Own reliable vehicle, properly registered, inspected, insured, and available for work‑related travel in Philadelphia and Delaware County.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain background clearances – FBI, PA State Police Criminal History, and PA Department of Human Services Child Abuse.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two years’ experience working with adults with Intellectual Disabilities or co‑occurring disorders.
  • Experience in vocational education or job coaching strongly preferred.
Language Ability

Must effectively understand, read, write, print legibly, and speak in English. Capable of reading safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals; writing routine reports and correspondence.

Reasoning Ability

Apply common sense to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form; address problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills and proficiency with Outlook email and data entry.
  • Willingness to learn other computer‑based applications as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This position is not responsible for staff supervision.

Physical Demands
  • Frequently lift/move up to 10 pounds; regularly lift up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift more than 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Maintain close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Stand for long periods, use hands, talk, hear, walk, sit, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, taste, or smell.
  • Possible moderate exposure to blood‑borne pathogens and low exposure to hazardous materials.
Hiring Rate

Starts at $19.50 or more for experience.
