DescriptionOf Work
This role focuses on supporting caseworkers and children through supervision, transportation, documentation, and day-to-day assistance. You will help ensure that agency procedures run smoothly and that children have what they need during appointments and transitions. As a Social Services Aide 1, you will perform the following duties:
Child Supervision:
Supervise and monitor children during appointments, visitation, court events, and approved activities Placement Support:
Assist with admission, placement, and discharge procedures for children in agency custody Home Visit Assistance:
Accompany caseworkers on home visits and report observations about child and family functioning Record Management:
Obtain and maintain medical, dental, vision, immunization, and related records Transportation Tasks:
Transport foster children to visits, school, appointments, and approved activities Resource Coordination:
Support communication between the agency and resource families during placement transitions
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
- Possible travel requiring overnight stays. Possible after-hours appointments for supervised visitation and transportation.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Graduation from high school; or
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
