County Caseworker 1
Become a County Caseworker 1 with Lycoming County Children and Youth Services and help guide youth toward meaningful growth. This role allows you to support an evidence-based mentoring program that builds confidence and positive relationships. This role supports the Big Brothers/Big Sisters NEPA Program by guiding clients and volunteers through enrollment, matching, and ongoing casework. You will help ensure program quality while supporting positive development for children and families. As a County Caseworker 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Program Standards: Follow tools, resources, and supervision provided to maintain required program standards
- Community Recruitment: Reach out to the community to identify and engage potential volunteers, clients, and advisory board members
- Intake Assessment: Complete detailed assessments to determine eligibility and gather essential information
- Orientation Support: Conduct orientations and training sessions for families, volunteers, and partners
- Event Coordination: Plan and coordinate group activities and special events for clients
- Needs Identification: Obtain information to identify social, emotional, physical, or economic needs and assist clients in accessing services
- Match Planning: Guide clients and volunteers in creating and updating Match Plans
- Documentation Management: Maintain accurate records and enter required information into program systems
- Program Transition: Conduct interviews for clients and volunteers leaving the program
- Full-time employment.
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility
Qualifications Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 and two years of college level course work which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
- A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by successful completion of 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 or in a similar position performing paraprofessional case management functions.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within two months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.
Other Requirements:
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
