DESCRIPTION OF WORKThis position provides support services to children and families by working directly in their homes and partnering with caseworkers and social workers to strengthen service delivery. The role requires careful observation, strong communication, and independent judgment while helping families improve stability and access important resources. As a County Social Services Aide 3, you will perform the following duties:
- Family Support: Assist families with childcare, home management, and locating community resources
- Assessment
Activities:
Observe family needs and strengths and share findings with the worker to support service planning - Home Visits: Meet with families and agency staff to review tasks, responsibilities, and time frames
- Relationship Building: Develop supportive relationships with families in a sensitive and responsive manner
- Task
Collaboration:
Work with staff and families to update service plans and prepare families for completion of services - Community Contact: Help clients access community services and assist caseworkers with gathering necessary records
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This position requires flexible hours according to need, which may include early morning, late evening or weekends.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a County Social Services Aide 2;
or - Graduation from high school, or its equivalency, and three years of experience in public contact work in a human services agency which included one year of experience in interviewing and obtaining information;
or - An associate's degree in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences, and one year of experience in a human services agency;
or - Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
- This particular position also requires possession of a valid driver's license which is not under suspension.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
