County Caseworker 1 with the Department of Human Services, Blair County Child Welfare offers a chance to guide families toward brighter futures. This role focuses on guiding children, youth, and families toward healthier social, economic, and physical adjustment in daily life. It emphasizes community support, protection, and empowerment. As a County Caseworker 1, you will perform the following duties:

• Family Support:
  Help children, youth, and families work toward improved stability and well-being
• Case Assessment:
  Evaluate situations to determine needs and appropriate services
• Service Coordination:
  Connect families with resources that promote safety and healthy development
• Advocacy Efforts:
  Stand up for the rights and welfare of children in the community
• Community Outreach:
  Encourage positive growth by engaging with families and local partners

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Rotating Emergency Duty coverage for after-hour calls.
• Competitive benefits package starts first of the month following 45 workdays and includes 90% employer-paid PPO health insurance with prescription and vision components, defined benefit pension plan, defined contribution plan, group term life insurance, sick time, and 14 annual paid holidays. Starting pay is $40,969.50 annually.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 and two years of college level course work which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
• A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by successful completion of 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 or in a similar position performing paraprofessional case management functions.
• Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within two months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.

Other Requirements:

• PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
