Senior Python Developer

Our client is a North American leader in finance and lending. They are looking for an experienced Senior Python Developer to support real-time business growth.

In this role, you will be spending a significant amount of time in automation and dealing with real business problems. You will also be working in real-time systems and dealing with high production data. The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of ownership of the features they build, a good understanding of product development, and a focus on solving business problems using engineering metrics.

You have likely been working in a complex Python environment with a strong focus on data, data problem-solving and quick turnarounds on deployment cycles. You likely have also successfully completed multiple projects from inception to production and can provide examples of such. This is a long-term permanent position which will give the right candidate a large amount of autonomy and ownership.

Please note, while this role is open and available to all candidates in North America, there is a preference for candidates who are open to working in the EST timezone.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in building/supporting production-level systems
• Experience with Python, with a strong preference for experience with Django frameworks
• Experience in at least one other web technology (5+ years - JS, etc)
• Experience working with a relational database management system (preference for Postgres) and with a solid grasp of ORM and basic SQL commands
• Solid grasp of APIs (calling and implementing) as well as API best practices
• Results-oriented, biased to action, while retaining high levels of quality
• Able to operate in a high throughput, quick iteration-based environment (with potential multiple deploy cycles within a week)

• Experience with Datadog and FastAPI
