Senior Principal Engineer – Indianola, PA
Lead medical device software product design & development for our radiology product portfolio. Gather & develop requirements, assess regulatory design controls & industry standards, translate requirements into application features, support software testing, design review, verification & validation activities, contribute to regulatory documentation & submissions, provide input for technical design & architecture decisions, coordinate priorities & deadlines with the team, and mentor junior team members.
Responsibilities- Lead design and development of embedded application software for radiology injection systems across the entire software development lifecycle.
- Architect software systems and sub‑systems, including imaging system interfaces.
- Apply medical device standards for Class‑2 device development (e.g., ISO 11898‑1, CiA 301, 425‑1, 425‑2).
- Program in C & C++ for Linux and Windows cross‑platforms and/or real‑time operating systems.
- Write code in JSON, gRPC, TLS, TPM, Qt, Shell & Python to develop product security features and test tools.
- Implement integrations with DICOM, HL7 & MIRTH Connect.
- Use Git Hub, Windchill, RQM, DNG & Jira to manage source code, test cases, requirements & Design History File documentation.
- Master’s degree in Computer, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering or closely related technical field.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in a senior‑level medical device product development role.
- Alternatively, Bachelor’s degree with at least 6 years progressive post‑bachelor’s experience.
- Strong background in embedded systems, regulatory compliance, and software architecture.
- Based in Indianola, PA. Telecommuting up to 1 day per week from a reasonable commuting location.
- Up to 5 % U.S. & international travel required.
- Base salary $162,000 – $185,000 (dependent on location, market data and experience).
- Eligible for bonuses or commissions (where applicable).
